Founder Circle brings together Utah founders leading companies valued at $100 million or more for monthly conversations about the issues shaping our businesses, communities, and state—from housing and the Great Salt Lake to private equity and Utah's affordability crisis.

Introducing Silicon Slopes Executive Circles

Silicon Slopes is launching eight peer communities for Utah's CEOs, COOs, CTO/CIO/CSOs, CMO/GTM leaders, CROs, CXOs, CHRO/CPOs, and CLOs/General Counsels. Each circle brings together leaders who sit in the same seat and wrestle with many of the same problems. Because sometimes the person who best understands what keeps a CRO up at night is the CRO down the street.

Each circle meets monthly and has a private community inside the Silicon Slopes Hub with a full member directory. Members will create their own programming track for the Silicon Slopes Executive Forum and help select finalists and winners for the annual Silicon Slopes Awards.

Every other month, leaders from across the circles will come together for dinner. Circle members will also mentor Start School founders and produce workshops for participating companies, helping the experience inside these rooms reach Utah's next generation of leaders. And the members—not Silicon Slopes—set the agenda.

Each circle elects its own Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary and decides which conversations matter most.

Founder Circle taught us something simple: Put the right people in a room consistently, give them a reason to help one another, and remarkable things start happening.

New Kahlert Children’s Mental Health Center brings specialized care for young children and families closer to home.

For more than 60 years, The Children’s Center Utah has provided specialized infant and early childhood mental health care to young children, families, and caregivers in Salt Lake County. Now, that care is expanding.

The Children’s Center Utah has opened Kahlert Children’s Mental Health Center in Lehi, its first Utah County location and an important step toward expanding access to specialized early childhood mental health services statewide.

Why Utah County?

Utah County is the fastest-growing county in the state, has Utah’s youngest median age, and is home to approximately 60,000 children from birth through age six.

Until now, many Utah County families seeking The Children’s Center Utah’s specialized services had to travel to Salt Lake County for care. The new Lehi center brings that support directly into one of Utah’s fastest-growing communities.

The center was made possible through broad public and private support, including state funding, generous private donors, and land donated by Intermountain Health on its Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi.

Located directly across the street from Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Center Utah operates as an independent mental health care provider. Its services complement the pediatric mental health care available at Primary Children’s Hospital, reflecting a shared understanding that children’s physical and mental well-being are deeply connected.

Specialized Care for Utah’s Youngest Children

At both its Salt Lake County and Utah County locations, The Children’s Center Utah provides comprehensive mental health care exclusively for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families and caregivers.

The Kahlert Children’s Mental Health Center is now providing outpatient mental health services for children from birth through age six. Its Therapeutic Preschool Program will begin at the Lehi location in January.

By bringing these services closer to home, The Children’s Center Utah can help reduce barriers to treatment and reach more children during some of the earliest and most formative years of their lives.

Silicon Slopes recently took networking to a higher elevation.

On August 28, Clint Betts, CEO of Silicon Slopes; Ryan Westwood, CEO of Fullcast; and Todd Bennett, President and COO of Deer Valley Resort, joined Utah business leaders for an intimate mountaintop gathering at Deer Valley.

The afternoon began at Silver Lake Lodge before guests headed up the mountain for panoramic Wasatch views, lunch prepared by Deer Valley’s culinary team, and an insider’s look at the resort’s continued growth and vision for the future.

The gathering offered something Silicon Slopes events do best: bringing Utah leaders together in a setting where good conversation, new connections and big ideas have room to develop. And sometimes, that room happens to be at the top of a mountain.

Fullcast co-founder and CMO Amy Cook joined an inspiring group of Utah business leaders at the Companies Championing Women Luncheon on August 27 at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.

Her message to women managing leadership roles, career changes and the unexpected turns along the way was refreshingly direct:

“Base your career decisions on who you want to work with, even more than the opportunity itself.”

“Do not let others define who you are.”

And when things don’t go according to plan?

“The show must go on.”

Drawing from her own experiences with entrepreneurship, financial uncertainty, career setbacks, acquisitions and leadership, Amy encouraged women to trust themselves, take chances on good people and refuse to play small.
