25 Years, 20+ Acquisitions, and Doubling Revenue at Instructure: Start School with Steve Daly on April 21.

Steve Daly has spent 25 years in technology, and what makes his experience different from most CEOs you'll hear from is how he built. He's grown companies organically. He's been through more than 20 acquisitions. He's been a founder, a general manager, a strategist, and a CEO. He's done it in software and hardware, domestically and internationally, from São Paulo to Salt Lake City.

Steve Daly leads Instructure, one of the most important education technology companies in the world, and serves as Chairman of Junior Achievement of Utah. He holds a mechanical engineering degree and an MBA in strategy and finance from BYU.

On April 21, Steve is sitting down with Start School to talk about what he's learned building and scaling companies over the course of 25 years. What organic growth actually looks like when you're in the middle of it. How he thinks about acquisitions from every side of the table. What he learned founding a startup and what he learned running companies with thousands of employees. How he approached taking Instructure and turning its financial performance around. What he's seen work and fail across two decades of technology leadership. And what he'd tell someone who is just getting started and trying to figure out what kind of company to build.

He'll take your questions. He'll give you real answers. No fluff.

If you're building something, thinking about building something, or trying to figure out what comes next, this is the room you want to be in.

Silicon Slopes Chapter News

GTM Chapter Podcast: David Carlebach Shares The Often Overlooked Benefit of Revenue

In this episode of the Go-To-Market Podcast, host Amy Osmond Cook (CMO & Co-Founder of Fullcast) sits down with David Carlebach, COO & Head of Business Services at World Trade Center Utah, for a conversation that reframes how revenue leaders should think about growth beyond borders, beyond pipeline, and beyond traditional GTM strategy.

From launching his own ventures, advising global companies as a consultant in Germany, to bringing Goldman Sachs to Utah and later leading operations across Asia, each chapter built a different lens on growth.
Now, at World Trade Center Utah, David is doing something most GTM teams struggle to operationalize: Connecting the right companies, in the right markets, at exactly the right time.

AI Chapter Lunch and Learn: AI and the Collapse of Competitive Advantage

While many people are talking about AI tools and productivity, the greater change is economic: when intelligence and execution become cheap, the basis of competition shifts.

In this special AI Chapter Lunch and Learn event, Tim Kapp, Cinco AI founder and principal, and Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at BYU, explores:

• Why AI is compressing decades of capability growth into just a few years
• How this new abundance is reshaping the value of work
• Why traditional competitive advantages are eroding faster than many organizations expect

Using software as a concrete example, Tim explains how AI is shifting leverage away from execution and toward judgment, coordination, and decision-making.

Designed for technical teams, business leaders, and executives, this session offers a clear framework for understanding what’s changing, and what will actually create advantage, in an AI-driven economy.

In this session, Drew Mann and Chris Renner (former US Federal Trade Commission enforcers) break down how innovative companies and their investors can identify anticompetitive conduct early, convert that harm into substantial financial recoveries, and use litigation and regulatory advocacy to remove the barriers standing between a great company and its market.

Whether you're a founder, operator, or investor, this session will change how you think about the competitive threats your company faces and what you can do about them.

Space is limited! RSVP to hold your spot!

Lunch is generously sponsored by: Dhillon Law Group.

BioHive HealthTech Hub Collider: Where Ideas Crash Together

Join BioHive at Silicon Slopes on May 14th for the HealthTech Hub Collider, an event where ideas crash together to spark breakthroughs.

Introducing STACKED Summit

Utah's technology community has needed this for a while. On September 11, 2026, it arrives.

STACKED Summit is Utah's premier event on AI, cybersecurity, SaaS, and data analytics. The inaugural summit takes place at Salt Lake Community College, and we built it for the people closest to the work: the builders, operators, engineers, and executives who are navigating the most consequential shifts in the industry right now.

Not networking for the sake of it. Not panels that go nowhere. Real sessions, real practitioners, and real conversations about the problems worth solving.

Six tracks. One room. Everything that matters in Utah tech right now: AI, Cybersecurity, Data, Systems, Builders, and SaaS.

Hundreds of founders, engineers, operators, and executives will be there. The first STACKED Summit is the one people will say they didn't want to miss. We'd like to make sure they don't.

Tickets are now available. Sponsorship opportunities are open. We are accepting speaker proposals.

Be part of the first one.

September 11, 2026. Salt Lake Community College.
